Suspicious that darling sweater-dress isn’t quite as flattering as ten pounds ago?Time to say goodbye to favorite pieces that are pilled, threadbare or faded?Are you at stalemate with great garments that tug at the waist, miss a button, or just don’t fall right?
Women typically wear only 25% of their wardrobe, thanks to ill-fitting garments, keepsake clothes with sentimental value, and impulse purchases. All clutter prime “real estate,” making daily dressing cumbersome and confounding. Even stressful.
The idea of inviting a stranger into your closet may give you butterflies or sweaty palms at first. Overwhelmingly, clients view the actual experience as an adventure where the reward is hidden treasures you invested in long ago — and haven’t been enjoying.
What to expect when Jen Edits your Closet:
First, we discuss your goals for our relationship. We:
- explore your personal style;
- identify types of occasions and hobbies for which you dress, and
- budget time and money to invest in your wardrobe.
Second, with clear understanding, we visit your closet, survey and edit each piece to assure it fits your plan. We:
- watch for pieces that compliment your body type, flatter your color palette, and represent your individual style;
- learn why certain apparel holds up season after season — a wise investment;
- share gentle, personalized style tips — and usually a few laughs, and
- deem some pieces obsolete — then bag and contract them to a consignment shop or donate to a not-for-profit. Soon, they become another’s treasure — and mad money or a tax write-off for you;
Consistently, clients report feeling lighter and energized after an Editing session. And there’s no extra charge for this unplanned “weight loss.”
